WLA INSTITUTION · GOVERNANCE

WLA CORRIDOR
SECRETARIAT.

The institutional governance framework that maintains WLA accreditation standards, coordinates the corridor programme, and manages the annual review of every Founding Corridor Lead designation.

THE SECRETARIAT

HOW WLA
IS GOVERNED.

WLA Corridor Secretariat is the operational hub of the WLA institutional framework — responsible for maintaining accreditation standards, coordinating co-practice activations, managing the annual corridor review cycle, and supporting the Founding Corridor Lead programme.

The Secretariat operates from WLA's Central Command in New Delhi. All client briefs, partner firm enquiries, corridor activations, and accreditation matters are coordinated through the Secretariat.

WLA Corridor Secretariat is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Legal services are provided exclusively by the independent WLA partner firms.

ACCREDITATION

The Secretariat maintains the WLA Qualified accreditation standard — the four-criteria framework against which every WLA partner firm is independently assessed annually.

CORRIDOR ACTIVATION

When a client brief arrives, the Secretariat identifies the relevant Corridor Leads and activates both sides simultaneously — within 48 hours of receipt.

ANNUAL CORRIDOR REVIEW

The Secretariat conducts the annual corridor review — assessing each Founding Corridor Lead's responsiveness, intelligence contributions, bilateral engagement quality, and accreditation compliance.

CONFLICT AND CLIENT PROTOCOL

All co-practice activations are subject to conflict checks at each involved firm. Client consent governs every matter. The Secretariat coordinates the conflict clearance process without being a party to any legal engagement.

THE WLA QUALIFIED STANDARD

FOUR CRITERIA.
INDEPENDENTLY ASSESSED.
ANNUALLY REVIEWED.

01
PRACTICE DEPTH

Demonstrated specialist depth in the designated practice area — genuine specialist expertise validated by practice track record.

02
CO-PRACTICE READINESS

The firm must be genuinely prepared to co-practice — responsive and operating to the WLA 48-hour standard on every co-practice activation.

03
JURISDICTIONAL STANDING

Good standing with the relevant regulatory authority in the jurisdiction, all required practising certificates and professional indemnity maintained.

04
INSTITUTIONAL ALIGNMENT

Committed to the WLA institutional framework — contributing to corridor intelligence, participating in the annual review, representing WLA standards to clients.
